What to see in Florence

Now we suggest you two exhibitions at very special venues, the first is a sort of dialogue between Francis Bacon and others 5 artists at La Strozzina, the Center of Contemporary Culture at Palazzo Strozzi, in the center of Florence.
The topic of the exhibition is the human condition in contemporary art and the paintings of Bacon are displayed together with the works by Nathalie Djurberg, Adrian Ghenie, Arcangelo Sassolino, Chiharu Shiota, Annegret Soltau; furthermore there are the items used by Bacon as inspiration: pictures, images from books and movie frames. The exhibition will be open until 27th January 2013. This year is the anniversary of a pop icon that is part of our imaginary: Marylin Monroe, died 50 years ago. An exhibition is dedicated to her and take place at the Museum Salvatore Ferragamo, who designed many shoes for Hollywood stars and also a famous pair of high-heeled shoes for Marylin.
The Museum is inside the Palazzo Spini Feroni, so we suggest you to don’t miss the others collections, as the shoes designed for Greta Garbo and Audrey Hepburn, to mention only a few names that had worn the creations of Ferragamo. To visit easily these museums is better to book a charming relais in the center of Florence, to reach by walk all the suggested venues and to have the time to relax in the heart of Tuscany.
